Dear Parents,
We are excited to celebrate Halloween at school on October 31, students are welcome to come dressed in their Halloween costumes.
Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind:
Costumes should be appropriate for an elementary school setting (nothing too scary, no weapons or violent themes).
Please make sure that costumes allow students to move comfortably and safely throughout the day.
Masks should be removed during class time to ensure clear visibility.
This is not a designated party day so we will not be eating or having parties.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.

WEEKLY EVENTS

Bullying Prevention Awareness Day is Monday, October 7. Please encourage your students to wear orange that day. And, if possible, talk to them about bullying. See below for information on bullying:
*Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.--
*Bullying comes in many forms, including, verbal, physical, social, cyber bullying, racial, religious, sexual, and disability.
*Encourage students to stand up to a bully and tell them to leave them alone..."I don't like what you are doing!"
*We encourage our students to be upstanders - if they see bullying going on, they need to stand up to the bully and let them know this is wrong and not tolerated at RES.
*A bystander is someone who just "stands by" and allows bullying to go on without standing up to the bully.

We would like to honor our RISD principals for National Principals Month!
Thanks to Mrs. English, Mr. Alsup, Mr. Wilson, and Mrs. Milton for all you do to support and help our staff and students!
