The time you’ve been waiting on has arrived! We will come back to school tomorrow (Friday 1/30). The roads are melting off well today, and conditions have improved so we will be able to start at regular time tomorrow.

After monitoring road conditions across our district, many of our farm-to-market and county roads remain icy and unsafe for travel. While major highways such as 271 and 37 are in good condition, our rural roads have not improved enough to safely operate school buses.
Because of this, Rivercrest ISD will remain CLOSED on Thursday. All extra- curricular activities are also canceled. We are working with Harts Bluff ISD to determine when the basketball game will be rescheduled.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff, particularly those who travel on rural roads. We will continue to monitor conditions and will communicate any updates as soon as possible.
Please continue to stay safe and warm, and thank you for your flexibility.

Road conditions are not improving enough to safely operate buses. As a result, school will be canceled again tomorrow (Wednesday 1/28), and all extracurricular activities are also canceled.
Varsity basketball games that had been rescheduled for Wednesday night will now be played Thursday night, Varsity only beginning at 5:00. Junior high basketball games are canceled this week.
We will continue to monitor conditions and will communicate any additional updates as needed.
Please stay safe and take care.

🥶School Canceled Tuesday**
Although the sun is out today, road conditions are not expected to get much better and are likely to refreeze overnight.
As a result, Rivercrest ISD will remain closed on Tuesday, and all extracurricular activities scheduled for Tuesday are canceled. We will have a 2-hour delayed start (10 AM) on Wednesday. If any changes to Wednesday's schedule are needed, we will update Tuesday afternoon.
The basketball games originally scheduled for Tuesday night against Harts Bluff have been rescheduled for Wednesday night. Varsity only will play beginning with girls at 5:00, followed by boys.
Please take care and stay safe.

According to County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service, winter storm conditions are expected to move into our area this evening and continue through Sunday.
Due to the anticipated ice, snow, and extremely low temperatures on Saturday and Sunday, Rivercrest ISD will be CLOSED on Monday. All extracurricular activities scheduled for Saturday and Monday are also canceled.
We plan to resume classes on Tuesday. Once we are able to assess road conditions on Monday, we will determine whether any adjustments to Tuesday’s schedule are necessary.
Please ensure your phone numbers are up to date in Ascender, as we will continue to send text alerts. Families should also continue to monitor Rivercrest ISD Facebook posts and text alerts for updates.
This decision allows families time to prepare and helps ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please take care, stay safe, and stay warm during the coming days.

Party day is tomorrow! Everyone will check in at the front office with their IDs. Students may leave after rheir parties with parents/guardians but must sign out in the front office. As always, safety is our priority. 😀
Rivercrest will be closed for Thanksgiving Holidays Nov. 24-28, 2025.

Don't be alarmed -- on Thursday, Oct. 23 between 9:00 - 9:30, Rivercrest will have 3 helicopters fly in to visit our high school students for College/Career/Military Day. They will descend from different directions and one will be a medical chopper. Please pass the word.
