Rivercrest ISD will be closed today due to hazardous road conditions. Be careful if you have to travel. We plan on starting school at regular time Friday morning.
Rivercrest ISD will have a two hour delayed start on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Weather forecast calls for precipitation with temperatures near freezing which could make roads hazardous. Classes will begin at 10:00 am on all Rivercrest campuses.
Weather conditions are concerning throughout the weekend and as we prepare to come back to school next week.
Monday, February 15th is a staff development day so the students will not be in school that day.
Due to the expected extreme temperatures and chance of precipitation, Rivercrest is going to go ahead and call a two hour delayed start on Tuesday, February 16th. This will give us time to evaluate weather conditions

“Caught Being Kind” at Rivercrest Elementary
We're celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week February 8th-12th. Our faculty will be watching closely to "catch" students demonstrating kindness. If your student is "caught" then their name will be placed on the KINDNESS BANNER and they might win a door prize!
If you'd like to reinforce KINDNESS at home, here are some things to think about. "Catch your child being good." Find something that you like and praise them for it! "You made your bed without being asked, that's terrific!" or "I was watching you play with your sister and you were very patient." These statements will do more to encourage good behavior over the long run than repeated lectures. Make a point of finding something to praise every day and be generous with rewards. Your love, hugs and compliments can work wonders and are often reward enough. Soon you will find you are "growing" more of the behavior you would like to see! Have fun spreading kindness and please let me know if I can assist you in any way.

Rivercrest ISD will be closed today, Monday the 11th, due to hazardous road conditions. Classes will resume on a regular schedule on Tuesday, January 12th.
Rivercrest ISD will have a two hour delayed start tomorrow, January 11th, due to concerning weather conditions.
The delayed start will give the District time to monitor road conditions as early morning temperatures could possibly fall below the freezing point.
Buses will run two hours later than normal and classes will begin at 10:00.
Notifications will be sent in the morning if there are any changes to this start time.
Also, because Red River County has more than 30 active COVID cases, Rivercrest is under a mask mandate. All staff and students must wear a mask at school when they are not able to socially distance.
Thank you,
Stanley Jessee
Due to the increased number of active COVID cases in our communities during the Christmas break, Rivercrest ISD is postponing the return of school for students and staff until Monday, January 11th. This will allow students and staff more time to monitor, and quarantine, if necessary, after the Christmas break. Students and staff will return on a regular schedule on Monday, January 11th.
High school basketball games will continue as scheduled.
Thank you for your understanding,
Stanley Jessee
Rivercrest ISD will release at 1:00 tomorrow to begin Christmas Break! Classes will resume Jan 6, 2021. Have a Merry Christmas!
Dear Rivercrest Community,
To help comply with UIL guidelines on gym capacities due to COVID-19, Rivercrest, and all teams in our basketball district, will use online ticket sales exclusively for high school basketball games starting this Friday, December 11th.
Starting Friday, December 11th, tickets will not be available at the gate to any home, or away, high school basketball game. That means if you are going to the girl's game at Clarksville on Friday, you must purchase an online ticket prior to arriving at the game.
Everyone must purchase a ticket online with the following exceptions:
• Rivercrest employees will be admitted free to Rivercrest home
games only.
• Rivercrest student athletes will be admitted free to Rivercrest home
games only.
• Golden (senior citizen) passes will be admitted free to Rivercrest
home games only. Rivercrest Golden Passes will not be accepted at
away basketball games.
• Individuals who have a District 16-2A basketball pass will be
admitted free (this pass is good for the cardholder only)
Please use the following website to purchase online tickets:
https://www.ticketor.com/maudathletics/tickets?pageid=165462
Tickets will be scanned at the gate. You can either have the ticket pulled up on your phone or you can have a printed copy.
Please help spread the word to the people that you know that normally attend basketball games. We want to get the word out as much as possible to prevent any confusion.
Thank You,
Stanley Jessee
Rebel/Lady Rebel Online Basketball Ticket Sales
Because of restrictions to gym seating capacities due to COVID-19, tickets for all high school district basketball games, beginning December 11, 2020, will only be sold online.
Tickets will not be sold at the gate of any district game, you must purchase a ticket prior to the event.
This is the link that you will use to purchase tickets.
https://www.ticketor.com/maudathletics/tickets?pageid=165462
Senior Citizen (Golden) passes, Rivercrest Student Athletes, and Rivercrest employees will be able to attend Rivercrest games without purchasing an online ticket. These passes will not work for away games, so everyone must purchase an online ticket for away games.
With COVID-19 shutdowns and constant changes, we cannot guarantee that games will be rescheduled or moved. The ticket purchased for that specific game, even if changed, will be valid when the game is played. A new ticket would not have to be purchased.

Face Covering Update
November 10, 2020
Dear Rivercrest Community,
On October 28, 2020, Red River County went under a face covering mandate for 14 days because there were more than 30 active cases in the county.
I received word from Red River County Judge, L.D. Williamson, that the 14-day mask mandate will end at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 10th because the number of active cases is below 30 in Red River County.
Although the requirement to wear a mask is being lifted, I want to encourage all of our Rivercrest students and staff to continue to wear a mask while inside the building and when it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing. Because our students and staff have been wearing masks, we have not had to send any student home for quarantine due to close contact with persons who tested positive.
Please keep in mind that if the number of active cases in Red River County go above 30 at any time in the future, we will be expected to go back to a face covering mandate.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stanley Jessee
Superintendent
Rivercrest ISD
