WEEKLY EVENTS
We would like to honor our RISD principals for National Principals Month!
Thanks to Mrs. English, Mr. Alsup, Mr. Wilson, and Mrs. Milton for all you do to support and help our staff and students!
Bullying Prevention Awareness Day is Monday, October 7. Please encourage your students to wear orange that day. And, if possible, talk to them about bullying. See below for information on bullying:
*Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.--
*Bullying comes in many forms, including, verbal, physical, social, cyber bullying, racial, religious, sexual, and disability.
*Encourage students to stand up to a bully and tell them to leave them alone..."I don't like what you are doing!"
*We encourage our students to be upstanders - if they see bullying going on, they need to stand up to the bully and let them know this is wrong and not tolerated at RES.
*A bystander is someone who just "stands by" and allows bullying to go on without standing up to the bully.

HOSA is hosting this year's blood drive on Wednesday, October 2. We need a minimum of 50 donors.
So anyone that is willing to donate is welcome! If someone is donating for a senior, they need to be sure to mention the seniors name at donation in order for them to receive credit for the Red Cord program.
The blood donated is distributed to our local hospitals. We appreciate anyone willing to sign up to donate. Our next blood drive will be in January. Thank you for your willingness to help save lives!

The Rivercrest ISD announced today it will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
