Justin Milton, who is in his 8th year here at Rivercrest, has been promoted to Athletic Director for our district. Coach Milton has coached a variety of sports over his career on both the girls and boys side and has spent the last 6 years serving as the Girls Athletic Coordinator/Head Girls Basketball Coach. Justin’s wife Mallory is also employed at Rivercrest and works at the elementary campus as a Math RTI teacher. Their daughters are very active in our school and love bleeding REBEL BLUE. “When I was hired at Rivercrest in the summer of 2012, I was the lowest member on the coaching staff and taught JH Math. I learned quickly that if you work hard every day, hold the kids accountable, and love what you do, everything else tends to work out. When a community supports the school like ours does, you have the opportunities for success in both athletics and academics. Having the opportunity to be at a district like Rivercrest has been a blessing and something I am grateful to be a part of.”

Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA 34 gave Texas Public School Boards the authority to make the final decision on masks for their school district. Rivercrest ISD Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to make the wearing of masks optional for both students and staff in school and on school buses. Rivercrest will continue to take steps to reduce the risk to students, staff, and their families by continuing daily disinfecting protocols, socially distancing when possible, and quarantining students and staff if they have a high risk exposure. We will continue to monitor cases in our area and, if needed, can mandate masks again in the future.
