UPCOMING EVENTS

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of an important change to the Rivercrest ISD school calendar.
The last day of school has been moved earlier than originally scheduled. The new last day of school will be Monday, May 12. This change was made to accommodate those attending and supporting our STATE BOUND ONE ACT PLAY!
Please make any necessary arrangements for your child’s transportation and supervision.
Graduation will remain on Friday, May 16 @ 7:30 as scheduled.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility, and we thank you for your continued support throughout the school year.

Good morning,
By now you have heard that our last day with students will be May 12th. That means we have to move a lot of events up before we end the year.
Our 8th grade students will hold their celebration on May 8th during their afternoon classes. Depending on the weather, we will be in the gym or outside that day. Money from their class fund will buy snacks and drinks for the students to enjoy. Any money left in their account will move forward with them to high school as they build money for prom and their Senior trip.
Since the elementary campus has their awards ceremonies during the day on May 12th, we will move our awards to the evening of that day. Our ceremony will include all three grades and begin at 6:00 PM in our gym. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian from the 8th grade class will provide their speeches, as well.
That's a lot of changes to our normal routine, but it is for a good cause as our One Act Play will be competing in Austin.

Dear parents: Today, at Rivercrest Junior High School, your child participated in a fire drill. It is important for students to be prepared and not scared should a situation ever occur.
Please talk to your child about the drill, and reinforce the importance of practicing. If this had been a real emergency, you would have received instructions on what needed to be done in order for all students to remain safe and secure. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the office. Thank you for continuing to trust Rivercrest ISD with your students' safety and education.

Parents,
By now you've heard about the dance being hosted by the RJHS Student Council tomorrow night (3/6/2025). We are looking forward to a fun evening from 6-8 in our cafeteria. Here are a few reminders:
* Parents are welcome to come help as chaperones. Our STUCO members plan to decorate, so there will be an opportunity to take pictures of your student.
* Dress is informal (Sunday best), and our dress code standards are still in effect.
* We have asked each grade to bring snacks. 6th grade - Salty snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.) 7th grade - Sweet snacks (cookies, cupcakes, etc.) 8th grade - drinks (water or sodas)
* This event is only for students currently enrolled at RJHS. No outside student guests will be allowed.
* Music will be provided by Brother Jeff Duvall who will DJ the dance.
*Any help cleaning up after the event is always welcome!
We hope to have a fun event for our students. Please join us if you can, and thank a STUCO member when you see them!
