Today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he is will be lifting the mask mandate in Texas effective next Wednesday, March 10th. To continue to comply with the current executive order, Rivercrest ISD will continue to make masks mandatory inside the school buildings, on all buses, and when social distancing is not possible, through Friday, March 5, 2021.

Rivercrest ISD will dismiss school at 1:00 on Tuesday, March 2nd to give Rivercrest fans time to safely travel to Denton for the Rebels Regional semi-final game against Cisco. School will start at the regular time Wednesday morning.

Rivercrest Parents and Community
The extreme cold weather that we all just went through took it’s toll on some parts of our school and we need one more day without students to have everything fully operational for their return. So, students will be off on Monday and will return on a normal schedule on Tuesday, February 23rd.
Rivercrest will be under a water boil notice when we return on Tuesday. We will have water which has been properly boiled and disposable cups available for all students when they return, and we are in the process of trying to secure bottled water. Parents, please send bottled water for your child to drink during the day if you are able to do so.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Rivercrest ISD Parents and Community,
Rivercrest ISD is cancelling classes for the remainder of this week due to weather conditions. Classes are closed from Monday, February 15th through Friday, February 19th.
These are “bad weather days” and not “remote learning days”
Again, the temperatures and weather conditions can be dangerous, so please take care of yourselves and be careful.
School will resume on a normal schedule on Monday, February 22, 2021.
Stay warm and be safe,
Stanley Jessee

Rivercrest ISD Parents and Community,
In anticipation of the extreme weather conditions that are forecast for this weekend and next week, Rivercrest ISD is cancelling classes for Tuesday, February 16th and Wednesday, February 17th. I know the forecast for the rest of the week doesn’t look very promising, but we will make those decisions as we get closer to that time and have more current information.
As a reminder, all students are out of school Monday due to a scheduled staff development day.
These days that are taken off next week are not “remote learning” days, they are “snow days”😊. It isn’t very often that we get snow in our area so I hope our kids (and parents) are able to enjoy time playing and having fun!
Keep in mind though, the temperatures and conditions this weekend and next week will no doubt be uncomfortable, and can also be dangerous, so please take care of yourselves and be careful.
Stay warm and be safe,
Stanley Jessee

Rivercrest ISD will have a two hour delayed start on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Weather forecast calls for precipitation with temperatures near freezing which could make roads hazardous. Classes will begin at 10:00 am on all Rivercrest campuses.
Weather conditions are concerning throughout the weekend and as we prepare to come back to school next week.
Monday, February 15th is a staff development day so the students will not be in school that day.
Due to the expected extreme temperatures and chance of precipitation, Rivercrest is going to go ahead and call a two hour delayed start on Tuesday, February 16th. This will give us time to evaluate weather conditions

Rivercrest ISD will release school at 1:00 on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 for students and staff to have the opportunity to attend services for Paden Bridges.

October 27, 2020
Dear Rivercrest Community,
Red River County has been exempt from the face covering mandate issued by Governor Abbott in Executive Order GA-29 because we had less than 20 active cases in the county. Since that executive order came out, the number to be exempt was increased to 30 active cases.
I have been notified by Red River County Judge, L.D. Williamson, that at this time Red River County has 30 active cases and Red River County is no longer exempt.
Starting on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, face covering will be required for all students in grades 4 – 12, staff, and visitors at Rivercrest ISD, while inside the building and when outdoors in public space, wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household. This requirement will remain if affect until further notice.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stanley Jessee
Superintendent
Rivercrest ISD

For everyone going to the varsity football game at Harleton tonight, please know that Harleton is in a county that is not exempt from the face covering requirement. Everyone will be required to wear a face covering at all times while inside the stadium unless you are eating or drinking. Thank you for your cooperation.
