School is in full swing and the kids are showing up with large appetites and that makes us happy. Below are some important points and clarifications about the Rivercrest ISD Cafeterias.
The charge limit is $10.00 per child. This means your child can charge up to $10.00 on their lunch account. Once the charge limit has been met, no more meals will be allowed to charge on that account until the balance is taken care of. Your child will have the opportunity to call home for an alternate meal. Elementary students will be offered a sack lunch.
All condiments such as ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, dressing, salsa, etc are free of charge. Ice water is available at all meal times free of charge. However, extra food items, ice cream (unless on the menu for that day), extra juice, extra milk, tea or fruit slushies are not included in the price of the meal. Per State Health Inspector: a clean cup must be used when getting a refill. Tea and slushie refills are the same price as the original purchase price.
Per Texas Public State Nutrition Policy the Junior High can purchase a 12 ounce glass of tea which is 50 cents. The junior high (grades 6-8) can have 8 ounces of 100% fruit slushie which is 75 cents.
High School (grades 9-12) Tea is also 12 ounce glasses at 50 cents and 12 ounce 100% fruit slushie is $1.00.
If you have questions or concerns please contact me and I will be glad to answer any questions. I am always open to feedback and suggestions on what we can do to make your child's lunch experience a great one.
