Technology Applications

Almost everything in our lives revolves around some aspect of computer technology. From the time we get up in the morning, until we go to bed, our lives are touched more than every by computer technology.
In Technology Applications class, we only cover a small portion of the things that computers are capable of doing. We cover the different hardware types, and well as the many different kinds of software. We cover word processing basics, the uses of a database, and a small portion of what a spreadsheet can do. Also covered during the year are the Internet, its uses and dangers, e-mail, multimedia, and even the history of the computer. There aren't any parts that are covered in depth, just an overview of all of it. There are lots of new vocabulary words, and students find out that computers can be used for more than Myspace, Facebook and MSN messenger.
The work that is done for this class, is usually finished during class. If students don't finish during class, the work will be due the next day. The class isn't hard, but sometimes students are required to go a little deeper than usually to pull the answers out of their brains.
All tests given for this class will be open book.
