About Me

My name is Mona Roberts Pitts.  I grew up at Talco, attended Talco School, and then Rivercrest High School.  After graduation from high school, I attended Paris Junior College and then East Texas State University in Commerce (it’s Texas A&M-Commerce now) where I received a Masters Degree in Education.   After college graduation, I returned to Rivercrest as a teacher.    I started teaching here in 1981, and I'm still here.  

    In 1983, I married Randy Pitts, he was a city boy raised in the Los Angeles California area.  I was the country girl raised in Talco, Texas.  I guess it is true that opposites attract, because we really had nothing in common.   In 1986, our son, RC,  was born.  He attended Bogata Elementary & Jr. High, and then Rivercrest High School.  He graduated high school in 2005.  From there he attended Paris Junior College, and then Texas A&M University – Commerce.  He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in  Agricultural Education in May of 2008. 

          I look back over the years and wonder where they all have gone.  I also wonder about all my former students, and what is happening in their lives now.  I meet many of you again, when you bring your own children to begin jr. high. Just forgive me if I don't  remember your name.  It seems the older I get, the worse my memory is getting also.
