Rivercrest Bands

My name is Mike Hall and I am the director of bands of Rivercrest ISD.
The goal of the band program is to have students realize success in a large team setting, where they grow to understand that their one part is extremely vital to the whole. It is also the goal for students to learn how to use the skills and concepts introduced in the band setting as practical life lessons. Along the way we strive to learn the value of performing and learning about important music and musicians, and learning to pay attention to detail.
This is my 17th year as a band director. I grew up just southeast of Dallas in Kaufman, and have taught in many varied places in the state of Texas. I have taught in Tom Bean near Sherman, Whitney near Waco, Jayton in west Texas (not really near anything) and Early near Brownwood before coming to Rivercrest.
I have been married for almost 13 years, have a daughter and son who are both students at Rivercrest.
I received my bachelors degree at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University - Commerce).
